“The Innovative AI-Supported VAE Methodology for Migrants: A Tool for Integration”
Rende (IT) 20th December 2024
On Tuesday, December 17th, the Multiplier Event of the Work Inclusion2021 project took place at Palazzo Sanseverino-Falcone. The event, part of the Erasmus+ Adult Education program and promoted by Euroform RFS as the project leader, marked the conclusion of an initiative aimed at promoting migrant inclusion through innovative methodologies and strategic collaborations.
Titled “The Innovative AI-Supported VAE Methodology for Migrants: A Tool for Integration”, the initiative gathered representatives from the field of migrant reception, public bodies, businesses interested in the validation system, schools, and migrants, showcasing a cross-sector focus on inclusion and the validation of prior experiences.
Opening the event was Angelo Gencarelli, President of the Culture Commission of the Municipality of Acri and delegate of the Mayor, highlighting the municipality’s commitment to promoting inclusion and intercultural dialogue.
The central theme of the event was the new WIN-VAE methodology for validating acquired competencies. Designed to address the specific needs of validation operators and migrants, it provides an effective tool for recognizing non-formal and informal skills, facilitating integration into the labor market.
Key project outcomes were presented during the event, including the WIN-VAE Manual, the online training course Win-Training, and the Win-App Mobile Application. These innovative tools are designed to simplify the process of validating and valuing migrants’ work and personal experiences. The project partnership announced that the Win-App is currently being tested with a group of migrants in several European countries, a crucial step in optimizing its functionality and usage.
The results presentation was led by Ilario Lo Sardo (Euroform RFS), with remote contributions from partner organization members, including Mathieu Schaefer (Osengo Europe), Mariana Restrepo (Incoma SL), Segun Ajibola (Afrigat UG), and Nikos Sotiriou (1st E.K. Preveza).
The event also highlighted the importance of partnerships between businesses, public entities, educational institutions, and training organizations, demonstrating how collaboration can significantly impact communities welcoming migrants.
Moderated by Katia Bruno, experience validator for Euroform RFS, the meeting concluded with an open dialogue among participants, emphasizing the importance of replicating and expanding project results to maximize their benefits locally and internationally.
Expressing satisfaction, Euroform RFS President Giampiero Costantini stated:
“Promoting access to the validation system in Europe is a key element in creating a more inclusive society. Thanks to Win-VAE, those working with migrants now have an additional tool that significantly contributes to the inclusion of these individuals.”
